Get to know our new application: Avocai
Avocai was designed to estimate GSF’s avocado harvests in a simple, agile and effective way.
It is a computer vision based application that uses Artificial Intelligence to automatically recognize and count avocados fruits in the field using a smartphone.
All it takes is a few photos and a statistical model specifically developed for GSF to estimate the entire year’s harvest of its farms as well as that of third parties.
Simple to use and without the need of an internet connection in the field, GSF can start its estimates from a very early stage of the avocado production cycle, and repeat them as many times as necessary, thus obtaining a historical and graphical record of all the fruit evolution in a given harvest.
The first version has just been released and is the first smartphone application for avocado crop estimation in the world market.
Avocai does not use highly complex remote or proximal sensors, nor does it analyze indirect information, it estimates the avocado harvest using what is most valuable to the producers: the avocado fruit on the tree!
We invite you to visit our stand in Territorio Aguacate , Dic 1 y 2 to try our new app!!

Avocado supplier Green SuperFood launches
European marketing arm
Farmers Home Europe is a direct sales channel for exporting premium fresh fruit straight to European importers and retailers from growers in Latin America.
QUINDIO, COLOMBIA – 27 SEPTEMBER 2021 – Green SuperFood (GSF) – a producer-exporter of premium and sustainable fresh fruit and one of the largest Hass avocado growers in Colombia and Brazil – is excited to announce the creation of its new European marketing and distribution arm Farmers Home Europe, which will be launched officially at Fruit Attraction 2021 from Stand 6F03A in Hall 6.
Serving as the European office for GSF’s Latin American growers, Farmers Home Europe will operate via a transparent business model – directly exporting Hass avocados to importers and retailers across Europe, the UK and Russia all year round.
Farmers Home Europe will replicate the GSF’s existing direct sales channel in the Americas, through which fresh fruit is shipped and marketed directly to customers across Brazil, Colombia and Argentina.
Supported by a team based in the Netherlands, Spain, and Portugal, Farmers Home Europe will be responsible for supporting existing GSF customers and expanding retail, wholesale and foodservice sales throughout Europe, eastern Europe, the UK and Russia.
Thanks to Farmers Home Europe, local customers now have a more flexible logistics service which enables them to receive fruit at their closest port of entry or local distribution platform. Looking ahead, Farmers Home Europe has identified a number of local partners with whom the company can become more integrated, minimise costs and streamline the supply chain… READ MORE.
Happy bees, Happy Avocados!
Our successful green beekeeping project in Quindío, has now been expanded to locations in Cajamarca and Risaralda, where we use Apis Mellifera hives for the directed pollination of Hass Avocados, complying with our environmental plan and commitment to the conservation of ecosystems that interact with our crops.
Green gold… and white wool
The ancient tradition of grazing has brought mankind countless insights into the impact that sheep can have on the environmental sustainability of multiple crops, in this case the Hass Avocado. Based on promising recent studies, Green Superfood has decided to carry out its first pilot project for the control of harmful weeds through sheep grazing to promote a much more sustainable management model, reducing the use of chemical (herbicides) and mechanical (scythes) inputs, and strengthening the health of the soil
Drones in Green agriculture
Drones in Green Agriculture From Brazil to Colombia, Green SuperFood crops are experiencing a new stage of modernization, a stage where we make the most of technological advances for the benefit of humanity. For a year, we have been conducting tests in Brazil and Colombia to increase the performance of our processes in the field, one of the tests is spraying by means of drones or UAVs, which allows us to optimize the spraying of foliar fertilizers and phytosanitary controls.Despite the fact that aerial spraying has been used for many years on other crops such as rice, corn or sugarcane with good results, it is a challenge for Green SuperFood engineers to carry out this work in mountainous terrain and at variable heights that generally characterize Hass avocado crops. The project is under evaluation with promising results; Among its benefits, the reduction of inputs, less use of water, and greater work performance stand out, which translates into a farm with greater productivity and more efficient distribution of labor. We hope to start a one-year pilot project with one of our fields in 2022 in order to refine operational and technical details, seeking to cover at least 85% of this field with automated drone spraying.
